Day 90 [Focus]

It's a constant.
Refocusing this kid to what he's suppose to do.  He struggles greatly with keeping his focus, organization and finishing what he starts.  I can not imagine how difficult it must be to go through life so easily distracted, but as the Mother of a child with ADHD I can tell you it's not an easy task keeping him on task!
Today he's catching up on several worksheets of Japanese homework.  Some of which he had mulitples of, but just yesterday said he never got.  A quick look through his backpack and binder produced several unfinished sheets.  I'm happy to say he completed the misisng assignments tonight, now I'm just hoping they will make it to the inbox in class tomorrow!

Day 89 [Bags of Goodies]

Cello bags filled with chocolate treats topped with vibrant colored ribbons.  Waiting to be delivered to happy little faces on Sunday.

Day 88 [Kaboom!]

A little deep cleaning of the 14 year old's bathtub.
I recently bought a can of Kaboom to help get the hard water stains off my shower.  It's AMAZING stuff!  With very little elbow power after spraying and allowing to soak, my shower has never been cleaner.  I figured the teen tub needed the same treatment, as the rest of his bathroom did.
We'll see how long the sparkly white bathroom lasts!

Day 87 [Afternoon Delight]

Lazy Sunday.
Doing laundry, a quick trip to the grocery store, catching up on DVR shows with my main squeeze sipping a cup of homemade chocolate goodness.

Day 86 [Celebrating Rosemary]

Tonight we celebrated my friend Rosemary.
She turned the big 40 last week.
Happy, happy birthday!

Day 85 [Car Picnic]

Today I took the little guy for a car picnic at Sonic after preschool.
He was in HEAVEN!
Getting to climb into the front seat with me and have lunch was a treat he really enjoyed.

Day 84 [Roots Be Gone]

Cut and color today.
Love when I get my hair freshly cut and make the roots disappear!
I feel so fresh and lively!

Day 83 [Legos]

After 7 months on the top of the fridge, due to not one, but TWO up the nose incidents...the Legos came out to play!  He promised, no Lego heads up the nose (of which I was able to push out) nor the small Bionicle connectors (of which required a visit to the Urgent Care and a phone call to his mom).
With those promises I allowed the Legos to come down and be played with.  It's been ALL about the Lego's since they jumped down from their perch on top of the fridge.
He's gained some skills and patience since their placement way up high.  I suppose with age and maturity comes those Lego skills.  His birthday is coming up in May, dare I add to his collection?

Day 82 [Photo Organization]

The piles and piles of photos were calling.
They requested to be placed in their holding cell until scrapped.  I found this to be an inviting request, so I set up shop on the couch/coffee table in the family room, turned on the Food Network and got down to business.  Nothing better then sorting and filing photos while watching Paula tempt me with delicious, butter filled creations from her kitchen!

Day 81 [Toothless]

His teeth are falling out faster then they are coming in!
I can't say I have ever seen a kid missing 3 front teeth.
He was so excited to show me this morning upon his arrival.  He lost it this morning (i think) when he was snuggling with his mom before heading out for the day.  I hope the tooth fairy is good to him tonight...missing 3 teeth, in a row, at the same time has got to be worth a little extra!

Day 80 [Dude Fashions]

Took the teen shopping today.
Was tired of seeing him in the same 3 or 4 shirts, despite having a drawer full to choose from!  Apparently many of them are 'not long enough' so he won't wear them.  Whatever!
He needed a new pair of jeans as well.
Up to this point I have bought most of his threads when he's been at school or not with me.  This was our first shopping trip together in a while.  It was interesting to say the least.  To say we are not quite on the same fashion page is an understatement, but since I'm footing the bill....my ideas/opinions prevailed! I did allow a few items that wouldn't have been my choice....so we both left the mall happy.

Day 79 [Taster Curl]

Went to lunch with my guy today.
This was his 'drink'.
He was so excited!  The table prop adverstised the Taster Curl, 6 3oz samples of different beers for $3.99!  He ended up with 8 3 oz samples for $3.65!  He was very pleased.  There were two he wasn't crazy about, but the rest he enjoyed.  It was a heavenly lunch for him, pizza, beer and basketball on the TV in the bar.

Day 78 [Fresh Eyes]

Aaaaah!
I love new contacts!
I wear monthly disposables and I'm not so good on the monthly part!  I know it's not 'great' for my eyes to wear them too long, but I have found I can get about 3 months out of them before they really need replacing.  I was over due....The contacts I was wearing prior I put in before Christmas!
I LOVE the feeling of the fresh new ones!
Here's to seeing clearly! =)

Day 77 [Bunco]

BUNCO!
Late last year I was invited to play Bunco with a group of neighbor ladies of my BFF.  We try to do it once a month but have only managed 3 times since October of last year.
I hosted last night.
My son and husband really didn't know what they were getting into when I told them I was hosting.  My husband told me today that we are LOUD and the house smelled strongly of wine!
I remember as a little girl my mom playing Bunco.  All the yummy food she would prepare that we were not allowed to touch, being banished to our rooms and told to go to bed while a large group of ladies rolled dice, chatted up a storm and screamed with delight...BUNCO!
Now I'm the girl who gets to play rather then go to bed.
I like this side of that equation much better!

Day 76 [Presents]

I love presents!
The look of a fabulously packaged gift just makes me happy!
Aren't you just dying to know what's in that pretty bag?

Day 75 [Friends Junkie]

I'm a Friends junkie!
I LOVE Friends!  The show brings back good memories from my life.  It's first season I was pregnant with my son, who is my baby.  My good friend would come over on Thursday nights with Tim's Cascade Chips and watch the show with me while my husband worked the swing shift.
I fell in love with each character on the show.  I looked forward to watching my Friends every Thursday night for 10 seasons.  I laughed, I cried, I enjoyed every minute of Friends.
One of my favorite episodes was the one where Ross spray tans.
Funny stuff!
Every week night at 10 pm I watch reruns of Friends while my husband dozes off to a sound slumber next to me.  Tonight is the final episode.  I've seen it before, many times.....but it always makes me weepy and miss my Friends.   Tomorrow night they will restart the series....so I'm good to enjoy my friends for another 100+ episodes.  =)

Day 74 [Going Bold]

My husband and I have been dying to take a photo like this ever since they added these clings to the doors at 'our' Starbucks!  They are positioned with the 'hole' at the proper height for a face!  How could we resist?!?  We stopped in this evening and since the place was virtually empty, we felt now was the time.  We haven't wanted to make fools of ourselves in front of the usual weekend crowd.
So, would you enjoy a hot BOLD cup of my husband!?  I sure would!  =)

Day 73 [Clearing Out]

In our efforts to downsize I spent the better part of the day in my scrap studio clearing out one of my bookcases and organzing the other to hold the really needed contents of two bookcases on one.
Half way through the day I 'took a break' that has I haven't returned from yet.  So there is still much more to do but I'm making progress.

Day 72 [Turning Two]

Happy Birthday to Lauryn!

We celebrated Lauryn turning two with the Rosemond family and friends. It was a fun evening.
There was a feast of food, good food...as always. I did wonder if there was going to be fried food given that Daddy Rosemond gave up fried food for Lent. Low and behold there was some delicious fried chicken strips that I enjoyed very much! =)
It was a Wow Wow Wubzy good time!

Day 71 [Shine A Little Light]

Today I took the little guy on a field trip with his preschool class to the Children's Museum in Tacoma.  We did this last year.  He has a great time and last year wasn't too bad for me, given that my BFF was there with her kids and I knew several of the other moms.  This year I don't know any of the moms and have made no effort to get to know them.  Quite frankly, many of them are much younger then me, a bit click-ish, I don't attend the church where he goes to preschool and since I'm his nanny and will never be returning to the school after this year is out, I don't see the point.  So today's adventure to the museum provided me time to sit and read a new magazine that arrived in the mail yesterday while he enjoyed the fun the museum has to offer.  I did eventually get up and interact with him after he got the 'ants in his pants' out and could focus on certain tasks.  He made a 'drum', stamped with the insect stamps, painted a picture (which I just realized that we left behind!  oops...don't think I'll remind him of that!) and played grocer.  Instead of documenting this trip with a photo of preschoolers running around like little crazy people I have chosen the uber cool lights that hung in the craft room.  I have discovered through the process of this photo a day project that looking UP will provide you with some wonderful things.  Today is a good example of that.  A little light shined upon me today....that's always a good thing. =)

Day 70 [Self Portrait]

Not overly creative or orginal, but I decided I needed a self portrait.  I really want to make the effort to do a self portrait once a month from here on out.

Day 69 [Do Not Disturb]

Wednesday night, 8:37pm, no photo for the day.
Grabbed my camera and took a picture of my lovey little kitty sleeping on the sofa.  Apparently he didn't get enough nap time in today.

Day 68 [Got Ribbon?]

Ribbon re-organization.
Tedious job completed while watching TV.
I'm in the process of scaling my studio stuff down from 2 bookcases to one, this is one of many mini projects required to make this downsize happen.

Day 67 [Cool Treats]

I realized after loading this picture that 4 of the last 5 days have been of food....3 of those 4 being sweets!  I think I may have a problem!  Today I fixed up a 'something yummy' snack/treat for Jarod.  That's what he requests for a treat, "something yummy".  Well, today I delivered.  Some delicious Dreyers slow churned vanilla bean ice cream with a Girl Scout thin mint crushed and sprinkled over the top.  It wasn't complete without half a cookie gracing the side of the top scoop like a hat.  He surely did enjoy that 'something yummy' today!

Day 66 [Box Of Good]

Girl Scout Cookies
Need I say more?
We have been enjoying them since their arrival Friday evening.
Maybe too much!
My BFF decided to become a troop leader for her girls and is kicking off funding for her troop via the cookies sales.  Being that I am GodMother to one her girls, how could I not contribute to their cause!?  So, 'Auntie' Julie purchased 8 boxes of cookies that she has no business eating but is enjoying them as they go down, one after another! Won't you support your local Girl Scout!?

Day 65 [Smells Like Dinner]

It was a 'knocked out of the park' FABULOUS day in the Seattle area today!  Lawn mowers fired up all over the neighborhood, people grooming their yards, walkers, joggers, bike riders and kids filled the sidewalks.  The most noticable thing though, the smell of all those grills firing up for dinner.  We participated in adding to the neighborhood aroma by grilling some burgers.  The photo is sub par at best, but it's what I got with what I had to work with (an already setting sun, an unsteady hand and my refusal to use the flash!).  Hope you had a lovely day and dinner too.

Day 64 [Lucky Strike]

I wasn't exactly lucky, but I did have a good time!
Girls Night Out with some fun ladies.  We bowled Lucky Strike...so much fun!
Such a cool and hip place to go.

Day 63 [Atlas Shrugged]

I'm sure you think I'm off my rocker with a title like that!
My husband starting reading the novel, and I mean novel people....it's 1084 pages!, Atlas Shrugged.  He has three copies of it as the first one he bought has super duper teeny tiny words, he found one on ebay that he thought was bigger, but when it arrived he realized it's the exact same size.  He also put a bid on another simply because it's an old copy, from the 50's I believe.  He thinks that's super cool, me...not so much, but whatever makes him happy makes me happy.  I told my husband with that many pages it would take him forever to get through it.  He has surprised me and is moving along at a pretty good pace, for him anway.  He used to take years to read a book simply because he wouldn't devote any time to reading!  When he was quickly approaching the half way mark in the book (page 542 for those who are counting) I told him once he got to that magical page I would bake him a cake.  He got to and past page 542 while away on a business trip last week.  Tonight I made good on the promise we enjoyed Atlas Shrugged cake!

Day 62 [That Happy Mouse]

In the process of cleaning out my scrap studio, I didn't get very far.  I pulled the box labeled Projects In Process, opened it up and got to work.  I guess that's considered part of the cleaning out process...right?
I made a travel journal for our trip last August to Disneyland.  I diligently wrote in it each night on our vacation, being sure to document the events of the day.  Today I resized, printed out and added the pictures to the book.  I'm so happy to have it completed.  Something I can check off my list!

Day 61 [Pink Cotton Candy]

The street I live on is lined with flowering plum trees.
During the spring they bloom for a short time with pretty pink flowers before turning to plum color leaves that stick around thru fall.  We are experiencing a very early spring here and the trees are already in full bloom.  This is a good month earlier then normal.  For some reason the pretty pink flowers are sticking around longer this year and it's just gorgeous when you drive onto my street.  Looks like pink cotton candy lining my street.  So, so pretty!

Day 60 ['J' Club Pick Up]

Mondays.
Japanese Club (or 'J' club as my son refers to it) pick up.
He takes Japanese as his foreign language at school and every Monday he meets after school with a group of kids to discuss Japanese stuff, delve further into the culture and socialize.
Oh, and the boy is in serious need of a haircut!
The one in the hat.
